FAQs

Depending upon your particular problem or concern, your visit may or may not be covered by insurance. Medical conditions that affect vision or eye health may be covered by insurance while others treated to improve appearance are considered to be cosmetic, and therefore not covered by insurance. Our physicians and staff will evaluate you and explain your problem and treatment options, and whether it is medical or cosmetic in nature.

The initial consultation consists of an evaluation of your problem or concern, a review of your past medical history, medications, allergies, surgeries, and other history. An examination tailored to your concern is then performed, and then the results are then reviewed. A treatment plan is then formulated, and if surgery is recommended, preoperative testing and medical clearance are obtained as needed. Surgery would then be scheduled for the office, ambulatory surgery center, or hospital, depending upon your diagnosis, nature of surgery, and health considerations.
-
Except for a serious emergency, surgery is not performed on the day of your initial consultation. Surgery is usually scheduled electively, after we have examined you and carefully reviewed all of your relevant health information.
