Non-surgical Treatments
Botox and Xeomin
Botox and Xeomin can reduce wrinkles by weakening the underlying muscles which contract and cause the skin to wrinkle. Botox is effective for the treatment of frown lines around the eyes and furrows in the forehead. These medications are preventative! They cannot treat deep wrinkles that have already formed, but they are effective in preventing formation of those deep wrinkles. Injections are performed as an office procedure. Typically, the effect lasts 3-6 months and repeat treatments are needed. The cost depends upon the number of areas treated.
FAQs
-
Treatment requires minimal downtime. You can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave your specialist's office.
-
It takes 2 days to see any effect from the injection, with maximal effects at 2-4 weeks, with results slowly dissipating and gone by 3 months
-
Avoid alcoholic beverages the day of the injection, and it is especially important not to rub the injection area as this can move the medication into undesirable areas
-
Because these medications typically only last 3 months, their effects both beneficial and adverse are temporary. The main risk is migration of the medication into an area where its effect is not desired, such as the upper lid which can cause drooping of the lid. Another risk is asymmetry.
-
These medications are technique-sensitive treatments. You can trust that it will deliver subtle results when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy. So you’ll look like yourself—only with less noticeable lines. No one should be able to tell you’ve had anything done.
Fillers
As we age, our skin gradually loses fatty tissue, collagen, and elasticity, paving the way for wrinkles, fine lines, and other skin concerns to develop. Dermal fillers are ideal for enhancing lost volume and restoring the skin’s hydration, giving you a more youthful appearance without surgery or downtime. At Oculoplastic Consultants of Arizona, we only use the most tested and researched fillers to treat your areas of concern. We carry the entire portfolio of Restylane and RHA hyaluronic gel fillers and determine the best filler option for you based on your goals and desired results.
FAQs
-
Although there are a variety of fillers available on the market made of different materials, the vast majority are made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body. This is ideal because hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if need be.
Fillers can enhance volume and restore soft tissue loss. Fillers are the perfect solution to plump and hydrate lips, under eye area, cheeks, and nasolabial folds. -
Your filler results are visible immediately after treatment. You may experience swelling for up to seven days before it subsides on its own. Once the filler settles, final results will be visible 2-3 weeks after treatment.
-
Every patient is different and the longevity of fillers depends on several factors. The treatment area, the amount of filler injected, and the way your body metabolizes the product. Fillers can last, on average, anywhere from 6-18 months. However, filler placed in the face has been clearly shown to last longer in some patients, even up to ten years.
-
You may experience redness, swelling, pain, bruising, itching, and a rash. These tend to occur around the injection site and usually clear within 7-14 days.
-
Less serious risks include infection, asymmetry, or migration of the filler. The most serious risk involves occlusion of a blood vessel which can cause loss of blood flow to a select area, including to the eye which can result in loss of vision. Fortunately, such events are exceedingly rare, and Drs. Chen and Pharo are both highly trained in the recognition and treatment of these problems should they occur.
CO2 LASER Skin Resurfacing
CO2 LASER facial resurfacing is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a carbon dioxide LASER to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. It works by removing the outer layers of damaged skin, stimulating collagen production, and promoting skin regeneration. This treatment can effectively address concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines, scars, sun damage, and uneven skin tone, resulting in a smoother, more youthful complexion.
